Bridging the Gap
Lloyd Pulley
Pastor Lloyd Pulley was born in Michigan in 1958. After the death of his mother when he was 4, Lloyd was raised by his godly grandmother, who prayed earnestly that he would someday serve God. Those prayers were answered in 1976 when one of Lloyd’s classmates at Michigan State University shared the gospel with Lloyd, and he received Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
Lloyd quickly felt the call on his life to full-time ministry and decided to abandon a full academic scholarship, his pursuit of an engineering degree, and his college wrestling goals to serve God. He moved to California where he became an intern at Calvary Chapel West Covina (now Calvary Chapel Golden Springs). There he met his wife Karen (whom he affectionately calls his Armenian Princess) and began a family while training in the ministry. In 1984, 4 years after being ordained as an Associate Pastor, Lloyd felt the call on his life again, only this time it was to plant a church on the East Coast. He once again packed his bags and left a full-time position, his family, and friends to venture out into the unknown. God honored that faithfulness and in less than 20 years, Calvary Chapel Old Bridge (CCOB) has grown from 3 families to almost 5000 adults and children.
While Pastor Lloyd’s focus has been on expositional teaching, he also has a strong heart for missions and has traveled throughout the world spreading the gospel and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry.
